About the Smoking Quit Course
Your course, week by week
Weeks one to two are for preparing and setting your quit date. Quit week brings the strongest cravings, and short, frequent check-ins help you adjust in real time. Across weeks two to four, routines shift and your triggers get clearer. In months two and three, check-ins space out as confidence grows. The course closes with a completion review and a plan to protect your progress.
Cravings peak, then pass
Most cravings peak and pass within a few minutes. A short walk, a glass of water, or a call or text to a friend can carry you through the peak. Use any reviewed nicotine replacement as directed, and message your care team when a hard moment hits — steady support is part of the course. Keep water and your replacement close during the first week, when cravings come most often.
Before quit day
A few steps before the day make it easier. Clear cigarettes from your home, car, and work bag. Plan ahead for your hardest moments — morning coffee, drives, work breaks, and time with friends who smoke. Tell someone you trust your quit date, so support is already in place when the day arrives.
Why set a quit date?
A quit date turns a hope into a plan. It gives you a day to prepare for, lets your Clinician time any reviewed treatment to be in hand, and gives every check-in a clear purpose. You do not have to feel fully ready — you just need a date you are willing to work toward.
Support that stays with you
Quitting is rarely a straight line, and this course is built for that. Your Clinician checks in before quit day, during quit week, and at steady points after. Between check-ins, you can message the care team with questions. The tone is honest and steady — practical help, never pressure, never shame.
